Hotel Toriba was inaugurated on January 22, 1943, by Ernesto Diederichsen and Luiz Dumont Villares, when tourism in the region was still incipient, in this beautiful city in one of the high of the Mantiqueira, who at the time was marked much more by the profusion of Sanatoriums than by the infrastructure for the visitor in search of leisure.
