The Student Hotel has purchased one of Florence's most iconic centrally-located buildings. The nearly 20.000-square meter property was part of the gigantic reorganization designed by Giuseppe Poggi in 1864. Originally built for diplomatic needs, it was used for many years as a public office space. The Student Hotel Firenze will open in 2017 to breathe new life into an area that has never belonged to the public. The building will maintain its 19th Century facade but will be fully refurbished inside, mirroring the successful template established in the Netherlands. The new location will offer a range of facilities including classrooms that serve as playful work-and-meet learning environments, and Collab, a fully livable workspace where co-working facilities meet the full service amenities of a hotel. The space will also have its own large-scale auditorium with advanced audiovisual technology. Contemporary architecture will fram the hotel, student rooms and studios, and various common areas.
